• Figures from Trade Me showed the median weekly rent reached $450, up nearly $2000 in annual costs to over $23,000 a year.
• Wellington properties are attracting far more interest than those in other cities.
• Other areas w/ large increases last year included Marlborough, up 23%, Hawke’s Bay, up 16%, & the Waikato & the Bay of Plenty, up 11%.
