After spending millions on meth contamination, insurance companies have tweaked their policies to ensure NZ’s escalating meth problems won’t ruin their businesses. Here are the conditions landlords need to be aware of.
• IAG (AMI) has announced major changes to its policies, to be more prescriptive around what it will cover & what property owners need to do to ensure they qualify for cover.
• Vero made changes to its policies in 2016, capping the amount of cover available for meth contamination & excluding cover from some of its policies.
• Tower and AA Insurance have followed suit.
