Taking a case to Tenancy Tribunal is never an appealing option anymore for landlords. Some say it’s not worth it.

• The number of cases appearing at the Tenancy Tribunal dropped by 40% in 2016.
• Some landlords say it was not worth going to the Tenancy Tribunal, while others think they were disillusioned with it.
• However, an MBIE spokesman said the drop never showed more or less issues in the rental market, but it’s positive news.
• It simply shows that cases are being resolved in different ways, that people find a resolution before an issue reached the tribunal.
