Two years after buying the Cranmer Courts site a team of New Zealand & Chinese business men lead by former Christchurch mayor Sir Bob Parker have unveiled their plans for a $75m luxury apartment complex.

Homes will be ranging from $965,000 to $3.75 million.

The development will include 39 apartments and 7 penthouses opposite Cranmer Square on the Montreal-Kilmore corner. The apartments will have two or three bedrooms with a balcony, the penthouses will be twice the size of an average house. All apartments will have underground parking.

Sir Bob Parker expected potential buyers would include retiring professionals and farmers wanting to downsize and to be in the central city.

Developers NewUrban Group bought the land from the Majestic Church in 2015 after the council turned down its plans.
